Terms of Service
Last updated: July 10, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Verified Crew Technologies LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company with its principal place of business at 1621 Central Ave, Cheyenne, WY 82001, United States ("Verified Crew", "we", "us", or "our"). They govern your access to and use of the VerifiedCrew platform, including our websites, applications, digital credential wallet, and verification services (together, the "Service").
Please read these Terms carefully. By creating an account, ticking the acceptance box during registration, or otherwise accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who Can Use the Service
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you are 18 or older and legally capable of entering into this agreement.
If you use the Service on behalf of an organization (for example a vessel operator, management company, crewing agency, or training provider), you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and "you" includes that organization.
2. Your Account
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering and to keep it up to date. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account and for keeping your sign-in methods (including magic links sent to your email and any passkeys) secure. Notify us promptly at hello@verifiedcrew.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
3. The Service
VerifiedCrew is a maritime credential platform. Depending on your role and plan, the Service allows you to:
- Store maritime credentials, certificates, identity documents, and sea service records in a personal wallet
- Order verification services, including identity verification, credential verification, and background screening
- Share credentials and verification results with organizations you choose, and revoke that access
- For organizations: request and review verifications, manage crew compliance, and integrate with partner systems
We may add, change, or remove features of the Service over time.
4. Verification Services
Verification services are performed with your participation and, where required, your explicit consent given at the time of the check.
- Third-party providers. Identity verification and background screening are performed by specialist third-party providers. The providers used for a given check are identified in our Privacy Policy and, where applicable, in the consent flow for that check.
- Additional disclosures. Where applicable law (for example the U.S. Fair Credit Reporting Act or equivalent local law) requires separate disclosures or authorizations before a background check, those will be presented to you or collected from you in the ordering flow.
- Results are informational. Verification results reflect the data available from issuing authorities, registries, and screening providers at the time of the check. They are provided for informational purposes and are not legal advice, a guarantee of any person's suitability, or a substitute for an organization's own compliance obligations. Organizations remain solely responsible for their hiring, engagement, and compliance decisions, including any legally required processes when acting on screening results.
- Accuracy of inputs. Verification quality depends on the documents and information submitted. We may decline, suspend, or reverse a verification if we identify fraud, tampering, or material inaccuracy.
5. Your Content
You retain ownership of the documents, credentials, records, and other content you upload to the Service ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, process, transmit, and display Your Content solely as needed to operate, provide, secure, and improve the Service and to comply with law. This license ends when Your Content is deleted from the Service, except where retention is required for audit or legal purposes as described in our Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for Your Content. You represent that you have the necessary rights to upload it and that it is accurate and authentic. Uploading forged, altered, or fraudulently obtained documents is a material breach of these Terms and may be reported to relevant authorities.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Submit false, forged, altered, or misleading documents or information
- Impersonate any person or organization, or misrepresent your affiliation with one
- Access or attempt to access another user's account, credentials, or data without authorization
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent any access control, sharing restriction, or security measure
- Scrape, harvest, text-mine, or bulk-extract data from the Service without our prior written consent
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including by introducing malware or placing unreasonable load on our infrastructure
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service, except where such restriction is prohibited by law
- Use the Service in violation of any applicable law, including data protection, employment, and export control laws
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach this section.
7. Fees and Payment
Parts of the Service are paid, including one-time verification orders and subscription plans. Prices, applicable taxes, and billing terms are shown at the point of purchase. Payments are processed by our third-party payment provider; we do not store full payment card numbers.
Unless stated otherwise at the point of purchase or required by applicable law, fees are non-refundable once the purchased service has been performed. If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction with a statutory withdrawal or cooling-off right, you acknowledge that verification services begin promptly after purchase with your consent, and that your withdrawal right lapses for services already performed. Nothing in these Terms limits statutory rights that cannot be waived.
Promotional or discount codes are subject to the conditions stated when they are offered and may be withdrawn at any time.
8. Beta Programme
The Service is currently offered as an invite-only beta. Beta features are provided for evaluation, may change or be discontinued without notice, and may be subject to additional terms presented to you (including a non-disclosure agreement). If there is a conflict between these Terms and separate beta terms you have accepted, the beta terms control for the beta programme.
9. Third-Party Services
The Service relies on and links to third-party services, including identity verification, background screening, payment, hosting, and communications providers. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control, though we choose and contract with our providers as described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. Our Cookie Policy explains our use of cookies and similar technologies.
11. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics, and trademarks, is owned by Verified Crew Technologies LLC or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the rights expressly granted to you in these Terms, no rights in the Service are transferred to you.
If you send us feedback or suggestions, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use them without restriction or compensation.
12. Communications
We send service communications (such as verification status updates, certificate expiry reminders, security notices, and billing receipts) as part of operating the Service. With your consent, or otherwise as permitted by law, we may also send marketing communications; you can opt out of marketing at any time via the unsubscribe link in the message or your account settings. Opting out of marketing does not affect service communications.
If you provide your mobile phone number and opt in to text messages, we send SMS for account security and service purposes, such as two-factor authentication and verification codes. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, and get help by replying HELP or contacting hello@verifiedcrew.com. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. We do not share your mobile phone number or messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes; see our Privacy Policy for details.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service and request deletion of your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your access, with notice where practicable, if you materially breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases. You may export your data before deletion; data deletion and retention are handled as described in our Privacy Policy. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 5, 11, and 14 through 17) survive.
14. Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, that verification results will be accepted by any particular authority or employer, or that any person verified through the Service is suitable for any role.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Verified Crew Technologies LLC and its suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, arising out of or relating to the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) 100 USD.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations of liability for incidental or consequential damages; in those jurisdictions each party's liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
16. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Verified Crew Technologies LLC and its officers, employees, and agents from claims, damages, and reasonable expenses (including legal fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the Service in breach of these Terms, or your violation of applicable law. This obligation applies to organizational users; where you use the Service as a consumer, it applies only to the extent permitted by the law of your place of residence.
17. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms and any dispute arising out of them or the Service are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, excluding its conflict of laws rules. Subject to the paragraphs below, the state and federal courts located in Laramie County, Wyoming have exclusive jurisdiction, and each party consents to personal jurisdiction and venue there.
Before filing a claim, you agree to first contact us at hello@verifiedcrew.com and attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you benefit from any mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which you reside, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence.
18. Export and Sanctions Compliance
You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a comprehensive United States government embargo and that you are not on any United States government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
19. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will give at least 30 days' notice before it takes effect, by email or through the Service, and where required by law we will ask you to re-accept. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, stop using the Service and close your account.
20. General
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and any additional terms you accept in-product (such as beta or verification consent terms), are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service. If any provision is held unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary and the remainder will continue in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent; we may assign them to an affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. The English version of these Terms controls in case of any conflict with a translation.
